CAN – Community Action North has been awarded a grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund to run a project celebrating the fascinating history of village halls in the County.
Would you like to be part of this? Help us research the history of the buildings, collect oral histories, conserve and archive documents, photographs and artefacts.
Perhaps the children at the school would like to be involved.
Would they like to know about the shops that used to be in the village and the railway and how the signal box worked?
There are a lot people who have lived in the village for many years and have lots of stories to tell. They will all be different, many memories of the past and the changes that they have seen. It will be exciting to find out!
We would be able to mount an exhibition, maybe create a book and a website.
If you would like to know more or to be part of this exciting project then come and join us for tea and cake, at 2pm on Friday 29th April in the Millennium Hall.
